June 8th challenges us to choose. Most of us understand Name Your Poison translates into What will you have to drink. It’s an odd expression, don’t you think?Continue reading “Name Your Poison”
Today is National Brown Bag It Day. It’s also Tijuana Tuesday in our house. My guys Brown Bag It most days. And Taco Fixings travel so well.Continue reading “Chicken Jalapeno Lime Soft Tacos – Oh Yeah!”
The first Saturday in November has been set aside to celebrate one of the most majestic beasts to roam the American landscape – the American Bison. These mighty animals have played key roles in cultural, economic and environmental issues throughout our history. Bison were central to the lives of Native peoples, a source of food and vital to religious ceremonies.Continue reading “Bison Fry Bread Tacos”
Welcome to Tuesday in my world. You know, Taco Tuesday or as we call it Tijuana Tuesday. Tuesdays are our night for all things Mexican. As it just so happens, tonight really is all about the tacos.Continue reading “Stand Up Chicken Tacos”
Today is a Three-For Day. Three special days rolled into one. While we’re going to talk about the important of two events for today, we’ll only be able to eat the third.Continue reading “Like We Need An Excuse?”
Today is a special day – not just Taco Day, but Soft Taco Day. While those hard shells do bring a crunch to the table, in our house soft shell tacos rule.Continue reading “A Sizzling Soft Taco Day”
Impossible pie is oh so fitting for today’s recipe share. As a Catholic, I need to acknowledge that today is the Nativity of Mary. She was the Immaculate Conception, born without sin. Miracles do happen.Continue reading “Impossibly Possible Taco Pie”
I gotta tell you, every time I use my Instant Pot, I give Hubby a great big kiss. It’s Merry Christmas all over again. Meal prep is so fast. Don’t want fast? That’s okay, it has a slow cooker setting and a saute setting and a rice cooker and the list just goes on and on. I’ve heard tell the Yogurt Setting is perfect for proofing breads. That’s on my to-try list.Continue reading “Instant Pot Spicy Lime Chicken Tacos”
Over the course of our marriage, Hubby has introduced me to a lot of different things. One was an appreciation for Jimmy Buffet. One of the best concerts we’ve attended was a Jimmy Buffet show in Las Vegas.Continue reading “Another Taco Tuesday in Paradise”
Let’s start with mixing up our own Taco Seasoning, making our own Chorizo and then putting out a build-it-your-way Taco bar. Who needs restaurants to be open? A restaurant means you have to put on pants, get in the car and drive somewhere. Depending upon where you live and how “open” things are, that could be a long, long drive. Making a Taco Bar at home doesn’t require any of that. Okay, maybe pants would be nice, but not required.Continue reading “Best Darn Taco-Margarita Bar in Town”
Have I mentioned that I love – and I do mean L-O-V-E my Instant Pot. It just sits there, on a table in the corner of my kitchen, waiting to hum to life and bring us something delightfully delicious. You can do everything from saute to bake to pressure cook or slow-cook. It’s a one-stop shop for so many things.
We all love Taco Tuesday, even during Holy Week. In the past, we’ve tried to refrain from any meat during the entire forty days of Lent. Remember, those forty days do not include Sundays. Even during Lent, Sundays are Feast Days of the Lord. How did we do in our quest of No Meat Lenten Season? Failed. We did stick to the No Meat Friday, but didn’t make it through an entire forty-day abstinence.
Have you ever eaten at a Taco Bell? Have you ever tried their Chalupa Taco? If so, this is a lot like the Chalupa Taco. If you search for copy-cat Taco Bell Chalupa recipes, you’ll find them to be nearly identical to Fry Bread.
I think I’ve mentioned it a time or three, but Hubby loves his Mexican Foods. Darn near anything Mexican is delicious in his book. I’m really not sure where that comes from since he grew up in the Midwest, of German-Russian stock.
