People are so funny. As we counted down to our “Sail Away” day, Hubby and I kicked things into high gear. Watched what we ate, excersized more and went clothes shopping. A Cruise Vacation meant putting our best foot forward for a bunch of strangers we’d never see again.
The day arrived, and we were all set to sail off into the sunset with an insane amount of luggage. Eight suitcases plus a couple of carry-on bags for the lap top and camera equipment. Oh my word, I haven’t packed like that in over twenty years. Not since Didi (my Diva-Bestie) and I stayed at the Beverly Wilshire for a weekend of shopping on Rodeo Drive have I packed so much. I brought five bags for a 2-day stay in Beverly Hills. Hey, it was Rodeo Drive – I needed 3 different outfits each day – morning brunch, afternoon shopping and evening attair, all with matching bags, hats, shoes and accessories. Some old habits are hard to kick, as I felt compelled to pack everything but the kitchen sink for our cruise. A cruise is a whole different creature than 10 days hiking in Yellowstone. It’s a good thing Hubby booked a limo as transportation to and from the port. We needed all the luggage room we could get.

In my defense, there were three Formal Nights, which meant three “dressy outfits” and all that implys. Unlike men, who can get away with one suit, two shirts and three ties, we gals just need a bit more.

When we got home, the vacation pounds we’d gained weren’t as bad as I thought they would be, but it was time to think eating smart again. Hubby suggested I make something a bit more low-cal. Fine. I could do that.
Later that same afternoon, I pulled some weeds in the back yard and realized I had created a Dandelion Salad. So I took a picture and sent it to Hubby – letting him know we’d be eating healthy tonight night. Hey, I thought that was pretty funny even if he passed.

In the grocery stores, they charge extra for Dandelions. We grow ’em free. LOL.
God, You are the Light of my life. You fill me up with your joy.
That’s a lot of luggage!

Yup. No wonder people back in the day had steamer trunks!
