One of the things that I loved about living in Las Vegas were the casinos. Many of the mega themed casinos on the strip offer more than the games of chance. Some of the best 5-Star restaurants are in casinos, as are unique shopping experiences.
At the Venetian, you can take a ride in a gondola, then shop for all the authentic ingredients to prepare an amazing “imported” Italian meal. At New York New York there are deli markets just as you might find in the Italian or Jewish communities. And at the Paris Hotel and Casino the pastries are to die for. Not since Tahiti have I had Croissants this perfect. What most Americans unaccustomed to true Parisian pastries think of as Croissants are nothing more than glorified Sandwich Rolls.
Today is National Croissant Day. It is also a Friday. Since I think our Croissants are great for sandwich fillings, why not make Tuna Salad? Not long ago Hubby, Kiddo and I went on a 16-day Cruise. Once upon a time Cruising meant the best in the way of foods. This last Cruise served mini-croissant sandwiches. They were no better than the ones you get at the grocery store. The only benefit to making these sandwiches yourself is that at home we don’t skip on the filling.
Happy Croissant Day everyone!
Tuna Salad Croissant Sandwiches
2 cans Albacore Tuna in water
1/3 cup Miracle Whip plus more as needed
4 tablespoons Sweet Pickle Relish
1 Celery Rib
6 large Croissants
Green Leaf Lettuce as needed
2 firm Roma Tomatoes
Drain cans of tuna. Place in a large bowl, flake to break apart. Add Miracle Whip and pickle relish to the bowl.
Trim and finely the chop celery. Cut a small wedge from a red onion, peel and mince. Add to the tuna, gently fold to create a salad.

Partly split rolls. Spread some Miracle Whip inside each Croissant. Place lettuce leaves on bottom, top with slices of tomato. Scoop tuna salad and place on top of the tomato slices. Close roll, secure with cocktail picks if necessary and serve.

These lovely sandwiches pair beautifully with Macaroni or Potato Salad. Enjoy!

Have mercy on me, O God, in your goodness;
in the greatness of your compassion wipe out my offense.
Thoroughly wash me from my guilt
and of my sin cleanse me.
