Celebrating the Nativity of Mary

The Torah refers to Eve as aim kol chai, “the mother of all life”. Aim is the root word of Imma or Ema, the Hebrew equivalent for mom. To restore mankind once again to a state of grace, God first needed a New Eve. She would bring forth our savior, Jesus Christ.

Good morning and welcome to the 11th day of July. Time is flying by so quickly. Today is the Feast Day of Saint Benedict, Abbot. Every day within the Catholic Church is a feast day. Like so many saints of old, little is knows about him beyond the establishment of the great order which bears his name.

An Immaculate Day for Blueberry Muffins

Today is the Feast of The Immaculate Conception. It is the day that Mary was conceived in her mother’s womb. In Catholic teaching, Mary was the first person born without the stain of original sin. God chose her knowing that she would one day be the Mother of God.
