Homestyle Chicken and Biscuits is Comfort Food at Its Best

There is just something about Chicken and Biscuits that speaks to me. It says I’m home. Kick off my shoes, gaze into the faces of my family and just feel the love. Simple brings the greatest depth of comfort.

This dish has it all from meat to vegetables to warm bread. I love this casserole with a big glass of milk. That’s it. Just the casserole and the cold milk. So delicious, so satisfying and oh so filling. Oh yeah!

Homestyle Chicken and Biscuits
1 can Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup
1/4 cup milk
3/4 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded
1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
1 bag (16 ounces) frozen California Vegetable Blend (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots)
2 cans (4.5 oz each ) White Chunk Chicken Breast
1 package (7.5 oz ) refrigerated Biscuit Dough (10 biscuits)

Heat the oven to 400 degrees.  Stir the soup, milk, cheese and black pepper directly into a 3-quart shallow casserole dish.

Rinse the vegetables under cold water to thaw. Drain well, add to the baking dish.

Drain the cans of chicken meat. Stir chicken into the vegetable mixture, flaking into smaller pieces as it is mixed.

Bake for 15 minutes or until the chicken mixture is hot and bubbling. Pull from the oven, stir the chicken mixture.  Top the chicken mixture with the biscuits. Continue to bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
