Cheating Meat Lovers Cheesy Pizza

One of our family traditions at the Holidays is to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra. If you have the opportunity to see this amazing show, it will take your breath away. Their concerts are an elaborate production of pyro, laser, video and musical talents. Theirs is a Rock Opera in Biblical Proportions.

Now that we have moved to our beloved little community, taking in this Holiday extravaganza means driving a little over an hour each way. We don’t mind, though. The show is worth whatever it takes to get there.

Not only are the shows great, with a positive message for the Christmas Season, they raise an incredible amount of money for charities each year.

For us, it also means a chance to dine in places like Chicago Fire. We don’t have a wood fire pizza place in our neck of the woods. Naturally, when my guys get the chance to eat pizza, they jump on it. Lucky guys, I made a cheater’s pizza that same weekend. It was easy to throw together in the midst of Holiday decorating.

The biggest problem with making a pizza from scratch is getting that crust just right. By using a frozen cheese pizza as a base, I can get the perfect pizza every time, topped however we want.

Meat Lovers Cheesy Pizza
1/2 lb Jimmy Dean Regular Breakfast Sausage
1/2 lb Ground Chuck
2 tablespoons Italian Seasoning
2 Tombstone Cheese Pizzas
4 small Mushrooms, White or Brown
2 cup Deli Pizza Cheese
4 oz Sliced Pepperoni
Parmesan Cheese (green can) as desired
Red Pepper Fakes as desired
Nacho Jalapeno Peppers if desired

Heat oven to 400 degrees

Cook sausage and beef together. As the meat browns, season with Italian Seasoning.

Once the meat is cooked through, remove the pizzas from the freezer and unwrap.

Divide the meat in half. Spread meat mixture out evenly over the top of each pizza. Slice mushrooms and place over the meat layer. Spread Pizza cheese event over the top of each pizza. Cover the cheese with Pepperoni.

Slide the pizzas off the cardboard directly onto the rack in the heated oven. Save the cardboard round or use a pizza peel to remove the pizzas from the oven once hot and bubbly, about 12 minutes.

Remove from the oven, sprinkle with Parmesan Cheese. Cut pizza into sliced. Garnish individual pizzas with  Red Pepper Flakes and Jalapeno Peppers as desired.
