Yummy Rice Crispy Treats

On a Saturday morning recently, Hubby was going over our week’s grocery list while also organizing the hall pantry. That’s when he came across 2 jars of Marshmallow Cream (Fluff) just sitting on a shelf. I had intended to make a marshmallow fluff frosting, but then went in another direction.

That’s when the lights came on for Hubby. Can’t we use this to make Rice Crispy Treats? Sure, that would make sense. So that day he added Rice Crispy Cereal to the shopping list. Did I make the treats when we got home? No. Did I make it for him the very next day? No. Each evening after dinner, Hubby stood in the kitchen, looking for a snack. Naturally he had to mention how nice it would be if he had a Rice Crispy Square as his evening snack. Hey, we had been making Grasshopper Cocktails to sip while watching the sun go down. What more could he ask for? Apparently the answer to that question was Rice Crispy Treats.

What can I say? I love my husband very much. He generally doesn’t ask for much, so the least I could do was surprise him when he least expected it. Those kisses sure made it worthwhile!

Marshmallow Fluff Rice Crispy Treats
8 by 8 pan, well greased
5 cups Rice Crispy Cereal
4 tablespoon Butter
7 oz Marshmallow Fluff
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Grease pan, set aside until ready to use. Measure out cereal, place in a large bowl and set aside.

In a large pot over low heat, melt the butter. Once butter has melted, add the marshmallow fluff. Stir well until completely combined. Let the fluff has melt into the butter. Turn off heat, add vanilla extract.

Pour mixture over the rice cereal, gently stir together. Press into the prepared pan. Let cool for several hours before cutting and serving.

Arrange on a serving plate, cover with plastic wrap until ready to serve. As you can see, Hubby loved his treat. And I adore those kisses.

Alleluia, alleluia.
I am the resurrection and the life, says the Lord;
whoever believes in me will never die.
Alleluia, alleluia.
