Friday Night Pub Special

Friday Night and Pubs just seem to go together, don’t they? The only problem with pubs is the notice level. Maybe it’s just me but when I like to go to dinner, I also like to have a conversation with the people at the table with me. Pubs are loud.

I suppose we could turn up the TV with a soccer game, then turn on the radio with sports news and whatever else we might have that will make a little noise. Hum, that would be a hard pass. I’d rather talk than shout.

Besides, I’ve never had shrimp this delicious at a pub. The only thing pub-like would be the beer. And in actuality, with all that butter and garlic, the beer is just a way to wet it down.

Delicious. And quick. My favorite kind of Friday Night supper.

Pub Beer Shrimp
1 lb Medium Shrimp (20 count)
3 Garlic Cloves
1 Yellow Onion
1/4 cup Beer
8 tablespoons Butter
1 teaspoon Hot Sauce or to taste
Salt to taste
Black Pepper to taste

Peel shrimp, chill until ready to use. Peel and mince garlic. Peel and mince onion. Set aside.

Sauté shrimp in a dry skillet with onions and garlic for 3 minutes over low heat. Add beer, simmer for 2 minute or until the liquid had evaporated.

Melt butter, add hot sauce to the putter, whisk to blend. Pour spicy butter over the shrimp mixture. Season with salt and pepper. Cook another 2 minutes, until shrimp is pink and cooked through.

Remove shrimp to a platter. Drizzle with butter reminding in the skillet.

Serve with your favorite kind of Fries and enjoy.
