All Out Chinese Take Out at Home

Here we are, poised on the eve of National Chinese Take Out Day. Yep, tomorrow is Chinese Take Out Day. Last year, I shared a recipe for Crab Rangoon with a Dipping Sauce and explained why we don’t do Chinese Take Out. It’s not that we have anything against Chinese Take Out per say, but generally speaking, we aren’t a Take Out kind of family.

Asian Inspired Marinated Grilled Pork Chops

Up until those first drops of rain fall and the weather becomes unpredictable, as far as we are concerned the grilling season has not yet ended! Besides, my crazy husband has been known to stand in the rain (a light rain) and grill. The only thing that truly stands in his way are lightning storms. After all, it’s generally not a good idea to hold a long set of metal tongs or be under an umbrella during a lightning storm!

Bring in the New Year with Baked Sweet and Sour Pork Chops

Today marks the start of the Chinese New Year – the year of the Pig. I must confess, I had these easy Asian-Inspired Pork Chops on my meal planner long before I realized the significance of the day and the year. Is it in poor form to consume Pork today? I honestly don’t know. If it is, my deepest apologies to those I may have insulted. Such was never my intention.

Pretty Sweet and Sour Pork

Growing up, one of the dishes I can remember my Dad making was Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs. It was to die for delicious – and the sauce was a deep, beautiful red. The pork was falling off the bone. It was the best Sweet and Sour Ribs ever!
