Celebrating Our Lady of Fatima

Today is the Feast Day of Our Lady of Fatima. It marks the first of six monthly appearances of our Blessed Mother to three young children in Portugal. She came to the world during a time of war and upheaval. She promised peace while predicting future wars far worse than the Great War.

A Feast Fit for A Miracle

The Miracle of Fatima began on May 13, 1917 in Fatima, a city 110 miles north of Lisbon, Portugal. Our Lady let her presence be known to three young children during six visitations from the first appearance in May, and ending on October 13, 1917. Her final appearance is known as The Miracle of the Spinning Sun.

Portuguese Feast to Honor Our Lady of Fatima

Today marks the Feast Day of Our Lady of Fatima. For those who are Catholics, this is a familiar story taught in Catechism to strengthen our devotion to the Rosary. For those less familiar, let me take a moment to give you a little background. Our Lady of Fatima is a beautiful story of faith. As with all appearances of Our Lady, it is only faith that lets one believe.
