Sometimes Heroes Don’t Wear Capes

Today is Veterans Day. No apostrophe. Veteran’s Day implies it belongs to one veteran. Veterans’ Day would mean a multitude of veterans possess the day. The day is to honor all veterans, and not meant to belong to anyone.

Honoring Our Veterans on Their Special Day

As it happens, Veterans Day and National Ice Cream Sundae Day fall on the same day. Last year I opted to ignore Ice Cream Sundae Day and went with a Yankee Pot Roast Supper with an Apple Pie Dessert. I know, pretty cheesy.

Let Us Honor Our Veterans Today

In America, Veterans Day is a day to close many schools and business. There are sales galore for things we might not really need. Many establishments offer discounts to active and formal military members as a way of saying thank you.
