Today is Friday the 13th. In the Western world, this is a day which signifies bad luck or that bad things can happen. First of all, I’m not sure “luck” has anything to do with reality. We make choices, sometimes those decisions result in positive things in our lives, other times not so positive.

First Thursday of November

We didn’t see the leaves change in the San Joaquin Valley until the first of November. Autumn sure took its sweet time getting here. Now I’m doing a happy dance in the red leaves that will be gone tomorrow.

On This National Day of Prayer

Each year, on the first Thursday in May, we are called as a nation to pray. Organized by the National Day of Prayer Task Force, a non-profit organization of Evangelical Conservative Christians, believers are encouraged to pray for our country. It’s not new – this year marks the 73rd Annual Call to Prayer.
