Today is National Lighthouse Day. Those who have been around a while know I love the idea of lighthouses. I find it almost spiritual to sit quietly on a foggy morning and listening to the distant lonely sounds of a fog horn. It is haunting, and pierces my soul in ways no other sound can convey.

One of the most famous, most recreated menus on the planet has to be the Last Supper aboard the Titanic. I haven’t a clue as to why the sinking of this grand ocean liner holds such a romantically tragic place in the social physic, but it does. The Titanic has been the subject of many books, films and television programs. Immediately following the loss at sea, the public seemed unable to get enough and that appetite carried forward throughout the years. In all there were a total of 19 films and 27 Television productions, including a 1971 episode of Night Gallery entitled Lone Survivor.
A Six-Course Italian Supper to Entertain with Pizzazz
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away Hubby and I were known in our circle as the King and Queen of fabulous dinner parties. We threw elaborate cocktail parties with a wide array of scrupulous morsels served up on glistening platters that floated about the room. Six-course intimate suppers were not uncommon. Each event was a personal challenge to outdo the last. That was a very long time ago. Life and circumstances changed.
