Today is National Potato Chip Day. I have this really cool slicer just for making your own potato chips. In all the years I’ve owned it, haven’t made potato chips once. But it does work well to get the most amazing paper-thin onions ever.

Holy Cow, That’s a Lot of Potatoes!

For as long as I can remember, my father has grown a garden. When I was very young, he grew flowers in the backyard. The entire back fence was lined with flower beds. I can remember two of his four brothers also had beautiful gardens. Those boys seemed to have a green thumb.

Let’s Talk Casual for the 4th Sunday in Lent

Today is the 4th Sunday in this year’s Lenten Season. During Lent, Sundays are exempt from all the rules of sacrifice, penance and abstinence associated with Lent. For that reason, in our house we try to make the Sundays during Lent extra special.

Sandwiches for National Potato Chip Day

Today is National Potato Chip Day. I suppose we could have made a dish featuring crushed potato chips. That would have been fine. I’m just not a big fan of potato chips. I will admit, I like to smash plain chips on a sandwich, but that’s about as far as it goes.
