Cast Iron Peanut Butter Cup S’Mores

While the world is just beginning to venture out beyond our own front door; some restrictions are sill in place. And frankly, some of us are not all that sure about leaving our little cocoon. Too many mixed messages.

Here in America our biggest problem has been too many Chiefs. First there is the President and his task force “advising” the American People. Then you have the Governors of each state making their rules; County Supervisors and finally the Mayors of various cities in charge. So what was okay in one state wasn’t okay in another; and what you could do in one county you could get a citation for in another; same with cities. In some places fabric stores were open because they also sold crafting materials for children; while in other places you could not buy crayons but lipstick was essential. Some places you weren’t allowed to buy baking supplies but you could get a bottle of booze. It’s been a wild ride down the rabbit hole no doubt. Jammed together in long lines to get into a Costco Store was deemed acceptable; but having a picnic in a National Park was not. I ask you, which seems safer?

Which brings me to the real purpose of today’s share. If we can’t enjoy the great outdoors just yet, we can turn our backyards into little retreats. In the comfort of our own worlds we can bond with one another and make some great memories with our children or our partners or just spend time with ourselves. Who doesn’t like Peanut Butter Cups? Who doesn’t like S’Mores? Now imagine those together, all warm and melted and delicious! It’s a mad, mad world alright. How you approach the insanity is completely up to you. As for me, I’m gonna eat S’Mores.

Cast Iron Peanut Butter Cup S’Mores
1 (12 oz) bag Mini Chocolate-Peanut Butter Cups (such as Reeses)
2-1/2 cups Mini Marshmallows
16 Graham Cracker Rectangles

Heat oven to 450-degrees. Unwrap candy cups, arrange tightly in a single layer on the bottom of a 10 or 12-inch cast iron skillet.

Top candy cups with mini marshmallows. Place in the heated oven to bake for about 5 minutes or until chocolate has melted and the marshmallows are just beginning to turn that beautiful golden color.

Break Graham Crackers along perforations. Dip Graham Crackers into the Chocolate-Peanut Butter S’mores and enjoy.
