Is It Time To Decorate Yet?

Over the years, Hubby has allowed me (or put up with) my obsession for all things Christmas. From watching every sappy Hallmark Movie ever made, to hunting down ugly sweaters and insisting everyone wear one to matching PJs when Kiddo was a wee one. Love it all.

My greatest obsession once upon a time was Santa decorations. Which explains why my Santa Collection is the largest of my Christmas Decoration collections. I once told myself that 50 would be enough. But then I found a Santa here or there that I couldn’t live without, so 100 became the limit. Yeah, well now I’m at 152 in the ever growing collection.

Hubby actually bought me a pair of Nut Crackers for our first Christmas together. So I guess you could say he started me on that obsession. I now have 74.

A close third are Snowmen – at 66. My two most recent collections are Christmas Bears – with only 18 to my name and Christmas Characters. Characters are just that – cute Christmas Characters from a penguin on a bike to a Tin Soldier. Thus far I have amassed 15 adorable characters.

Last year I put out every single decoration to my name. We couldn’t even walk through the house. And it was hard to see because you felt so overwhelmed. Beginning this year forward, I am going to do themes – one year Santas, another Nutcrackers and so on. Every year I remind Kiddo he is looking at his inheritance. Every year, he threatens to sell it all. I know he won’t.
