Louisiana Hot Chicken Wings

The Big Game is coming, the Big Game is coming! Sorry about my crazy enthusiasm, but as I’m writing this piece, I’m watching one of my favorite comedies from 1966, The Russians Are Coming, the Russians are Coming!

Too bad the Saints aren’t in the Super Bowl this year – simple chicken wings douched in Louisiana Hot Sauce would be awesome. Oh well, these wings are delicious no matter who’s playing in Atlanta.

Louisiana Hot Chicken Wings
4 lbs Chicken Wings
4 tablespoons Louisiana Hot Pepper Sauce
4 tablespoons Butter
Celery Sticks
Chunky Blue Cheese Dressing and Dip for serving

If necessary, remove chicken wing tips and discard. Cut wings at the joint for two wings. If wings have already been trimmed for you, skip this step.

On the rack of a broiler pan, arrange wings. Heat broiler element in the oven and broil wings 6-inches from the heat source for 20 minutes or until wings are no longer pink inside.

Meanwhile, in a microwave safe bowl, heat pepper sauce and butter until butter is melted. Stir to blend.

Place cooked wings in a large mixing bowl or a rimmed baking sheet. Drizzle with pepper sauce and toss to coat.

Arrange wings on a serving platter. Serve with celery sticks and Blue Cheese dressing for dipping.
