The Lord is perfect. Christ is both Lord and man. He has two natures, two sides. Within Him we often see the Godly reaction and the human reaction, especially during Holy Week as His time draws near.

Hey There Sleepy Head!
Animals can teach people so much. Watch your pet in the morning or after a well-earned nap. They stretch. They linger in that sweet spot between dreaming and waking. Unlike us, our dogs rarely jump out of bed and run headlong into the day. Theirs is a better approach, a healthier and happier way to greet the day.

Today is the 5th Friday of Lent. Sunday we will begin the journey of Holy Week. So often we forget to honor the roots of our Christian Faith; Judaism. Christ was a Jew. Without the Jewish people and their relationship to the Lord, none of us are saved. It’s that simple.

One thing is certain, the photos hardly do these Fried Mozzarella Sticks justice. I should have photographed one in my hand. Each stick was a third of an 8-ounch block of Mozzarella Cheese.

Today is Chinese Almond Cookie Day. I adore Almond Cookies. However; there will be no cookies today in our house. Hubby and I have given up sweets for Lent.

Last year we skipped the whole garden thing. When we moved into our house, the prior tenants (actually several tenants back) had built raised garden beds in the side yard. Over the years, the beds began to rot and fall apart.

Today is both No Housework Day and Coffee Cake Day. While baking isn’t housework, it does create a mess and cleaning the kitchen is work. Unless you hide the dirty dishes for a day. Yeah, not in my house.

Today is Deep Dish Pizza Day. Once upon a time, when we lived an hour north of here, we talked about going out for a deep dish pizza at an incredible Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, we never did get that deep dish pizza.

Once upon a time, a very long time ago I made meatless burritos using tortillas and refried beans. That was it. Simple. Of course, these were after school study burritos when I was a teenager.

Today is the First Thursday in April. Nationally speaking, it’s Burrito Day. Didn’t we just make burritos? Yeah, we did for Nevada Day. My guys would say there’s no such thing as eating too many burritos. Still, variety is the spice of life.

When I was in grade school, I thought all Christians were Catholics. The children that I played with on the school playground during the week were the same children who attended Saturday Catechism Classes with me. Often we saw each other across the church at Sunday Mass.

Since today is April 1, aka April Fools, I thought it might be fun to learn the origins of the Jokesters tradition. April Fools seems to be one of those things most of us have heard of, maybe even participated in, but never knew where it came from.
