Today is a great day indeed. For one thing, it’s Friday. As a Catholic this means just one thing – a chance once again to give up something worldly for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who gave up all for me. Yeah, it’s a Meatless Friday in our house. That is just fine.

Today is National Pasta Day. Pasta to me is an expression of all things Italian. Once upon a time, Hubby and I loved a little hole in the wall Italian restaurant. It was – how do I put this – reminiscent of a Speak Easy or Private Dinner Club run by the mob.

It’s National Pasta Day – Hooray!

October is National Pasta Month, and today is National Pasta Day. Did you know there are over 150 different kinds of Common Pastas to choose from? According to the Encyclopedia of Pasta (yeah, a real thing) there are 310 specific kinds of pasta, with 1,300 different names. While noodles were invented in China, pasta is usually associated with Italian Cooking. Yet pasta can be found in dishes worldwide.
